The gateway links your ubisys Smart Home to the outside world. It establishes a link via the internet connecting the ubisys Smart Home App on your mobile end device with the ubisys Smart Home components installed in your home. Connect the gateway with your DSL, UMTS or LTE router and you can manage and monitor your home while on the road. Due to the gateway being permanently active we designed it to be very economical: Less than a single Watt is required while in use.
The wireless components used in the smart home system by ubisys are based on the international standards IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee. This guarantees long term availability of all components thus protecting your investment.
Security:
We put our greatest emphasis on security — no matter if its ZigBee transmissions from within or access from the outside: Reliable encryption, key exchange and signature functions (AES-128, ECDH, ECDSA) ensure that you are always in control. Via the web interface you can allow Apps on selected mobile end devices access to your smart home. Any lost device can easily be blocked and denied access with a mouse click.
Configuration, Updates & Support:
The intuitively operated display lets you set up the gateway effortlessly. The only requirement is a web browser. Our gateway can download the latest firmware for itself and all other components within the system. That way you constantly get new functions for the respective end devices. This also applies in case of glitches which can and will be eliminated by the latest firmware update. Also we have integrated a remote maintenance feature only you can unlock for our support team to access the device and solve problems more rapidly.
A remarkably elegant installation possibility is offered by gateways operating as „Power-over-Ethernet Powered Device” (PoE PD). These gateways receive their supply voltage through the same line they use for data exchange thus eliminating the need for a free socket nearby or installing additional wiring. If you do not have a PoE switch yet you can use a PoE injector for supply voltage.
The BLE+MC option is exclusively for customers who want to integrate the G1 gateway via Bluetooth into an existing Philips MasterConnect system. The communication with the luminaires is done via Zigbee after the start-up via Bluetooh using the Philips MasterConnect App is completed.
